The Gifts of Christmas at Santa’s Workshop is where the Madison community comes together to lift spirits and spread love during the holidays. What started as a simple toy drive has grown into a full on community celebration, a day packed with music, magic, and moments that remind us what giving really looks like.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of local people, businesses, and organizations across Dane County, families are invited to step inside a real life Santa’s Workshop at The Sylvee, transformed into a winter wonderland of joy and togetherness.

Since launching in 2020, The Gifts of Christmas at Santa’s Workshop has provided more than 2,500 children with free presents under the tree. It’s more than just toys, it’s hope, dignity, and the joy of giving back.
This annual event is powered by DJ Fusion, The River Food Pantry, Back 2 Basics, 93.1 JAMZ, and FPC Live, along with dozens of partners and volunteers who believe every child deserves a magical holiday.

🎅 The Experience
Each family has autonomy to shop in Santa’s Toyland
Choosing the gifts they believe are best for their kids. Once selections are made, volunteers guide families to our free gift wrapping station, complete with cocoa, cookies, crafts, and a few surprises along the way like selfies with Seoul Santa and free books from The Madison Reading Project.
The whole experience takes about 20 to 40 minutes. There may be lines, but no stress, each moment is an opportunity to keep the holiday spirit alive, lift one another up, and maintain dignity. Regardless of race, creed, or religion, the holidays are meant to bring people together in joy and kindness.
